Luxury for the whole family

This year we spent Christmas visiting family in lovely, historic Boston, MA. Our family includes a small dog, and she never gets left behind. Before I booked a hotel, I checked on their pet policy. Not only are dogs allowed, but the Mandarin Oriental, Boston rolled out the welcome mat! Our suite was beautiful, and our dog was given a very fluffy dog bed, bowls and a bunch of delicious treats. There was a small fee for having my pet at this luxury hotel property, but I have paid more at budget hotels and received far less. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas and service was spectacular.

Traveling with our dog means lots of walks and Boston is a world class walking city. Boston Garden, the oldest public garden in the country, is breathtaking and located in the bustling Back Bay area. You may ask what is adventurous about walking through a garden? The temperature was 25F, windy with snow squalls! We were dressed for it and had a blast - even the dog was wearing a puffer vest.

One block away is the Rodeo Drive of New England, Newberry Street. Shop this exclusive district amongst the iconic brownstones or go inside a short distance away to the centrally located mall in Copley Square. My dog walked with us through the indoor mall, and she wasn’t the only one! There were several dogs in the mall and there’s even a small dog park near Dicks Sporting Goods.

History lovers can walk the Freedom Trail and visit great points of interest from the Revolutionary War. These are tiny fractions of Boston available to enjoy on foot. Ask your Cloudburst Travel Advisor for walking details when designing your adventure.
